Nishant Visavadiya

East Tennessee State University, USA

Nishant Visavadiya has several years' experience in the fields of mitochondrial biology and has applied his expertise to the neurotrauma field (spinal cord and brain injury) over the past 7 years. Visavadiya has training as Postdoctoral Scholar at the Spinal Cord and Brain Injury Research Center (SCoBIRC), University of Kentucky, Lexington, KY, USA (2008-2014). In 2014, he was appointed to the position of Scientist II at the same institute. In March 2015, he became a Research Associate at East Tennessee State University, Johnson City, TN, USA. His scientific focus includes the study of mitochondrial biology, principally the mitochondrial micro-RNA, bioenergetics, and redox-mediated cellular mechanisms involved in neurotrauma conditions. Further, he has worked on several neuroprotective agents that can participate in mitochondrial functional homeostatic mechanisms following neurotrauma. He is also active in the scientific community as a Peer Reviewer and Editorial Board Member for highly acclaimed journals.
