Maurizio Sorice

M. Sorice was born in Sassari, Italy, on June 19, 1961. He graduated from the School of Medicine, Sapienza University, Rome, Italy, in 1986. From 1993 to 2001, he was a Research Investigator at the Department of Experimental Medicine of the same university. Since 2001, Sorice has been Professor of pathology, immunology, and immunopathology at the sample place. He is the author of about 100 scientific publications, published on peer-review international journals, and 7 reviews. He is the coauthor of General Pathology Piccin eds., 2010, and Infectious Diseases, UTET eds., 2000. Sorice is acting as a Habitual Reviewer for several scientific journals, including Journal of Cell Science, Experimental Cell Research, Biochimica et Biophysica Acta, FEBS Letters, and Blood. He is a Member of the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology. Professor Sorice got several grants, including CNR, MIUR research project, and Italy-Spain cooperation project 2008. His areas of interest are apoptosis; signal transduction; lipid rafts; T-cell activation; prosaposin as a neurotrophic factor; autoimmunity.
