Jorge Rivera

Jorge Rivera was born in El Rosario, SIN, México, in 1975. He received the B.S. degree from the Technological Institute of the Sea, Mazatlán, SIN, México, in 1999, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering from the Advanced Studies and Research Center (CINVESTAV), National Polytechnic Institute (IPN), Guadalajara, JAL, México, in 2001 and 2005, respectively. Since 2006, he has been with the Universidad de Guadalajara, Guadalajara, JAL, México, as a Full-Time Professor with the Electronics Department. He is currently commissioned as a CONACYT Research Fellow in CINVESTAV, IPN, Guadalajara Campus. He has published more than 50 technical papers and has served as a Reviewer for different international journals and conferences. His research interests focus on regulator theory, sliding mode control, discrete-time nonlinear control systems, their applications to electrical machines, and their implementations in reconfigurable digital devices.
