Hind A. Al-Abadleh

Wilfrid Laurier University, Canada

Hind A. Al-Abadleh serves an Associate Professor of chemistry at Wilfrid Laurier University (WLU) in Waterloo, ON (Canada). Her formal academic training in chemistry was completed at the United Arab Emirates University, University of Iowa and Northwestern University in the USA. Dr. Al-Abadleh is an Environmental Surface Chemist who has extensive experience in utilizing surface sensitive infrared spectroscopy for investigating heterogeneous reactions in situ at the gas/solid and liquid/solid interfaces. Her research centers around studying interfacial photochemistry relevant to atmospheric aerosols, surface interactions of oxyanion pollutants with model reactive components in soil, and environmental fate of engineered nanomaterials. Through collaboration, Dr. Al-Abadleh complements the experimental work with computational chemistry and mathematical modelling. The ultimate goal of her work is to use experimental data to build and improve models used to predict changes to the chemical balance of environmental systems.
