Hossein Moayedi

Hossein Moayedi was born on September 14, 1982, in Shiraz at Fars Province, north of the Persian Gulf in Iran. He finished his primary, secondary, and high school degrees in Shiraz, Iran. He received his B.S. degree from the Azad University, Ahwaz Branch, Iran, and M.S. degree in Soil Mechanic from the Azad University, Estahban Branch, Iran, in 2005 and 2008, respectively. He joined Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), Selangor, Malaysia, as a Ph.D. degree candidate in geotechnical and geological engineering program to complete his academic education. He was awarded by the UPM to receive financial support and work as a Teacher Assistant from August 2010 until he finished his Ph.D. degree in October 2012. In June 2013, he joined the University Technology Malaysia (UTM), Johor, Malaysia, as a Visiting Researcher. Then, he was awarded a postdoctoral fellowship to follow his research in the Department of Geotechnics and Transportation, starting from September 2013. His special area of interest is in the field of geotechnical and geological engineering, soil improvement, electrochemical injection, and slope engineering. Moayedi has authored and coauthored more than 80 published papers in various journals and conference proceedings in the fields of soil mechanics and foundation engineering. He is now the reviewer of many indexed journals and also a Member of the American Society of Civil Engineering (ASCE), the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE), and the Iranian Geotechnical Society (IGS).
