Alessandro Leite Cavalcanti works as a Professor of dental public health, Chair of the Postgraduate Program in Public Health at the State University of Paraiba (UEPB), Monteiro, PB, Brazil, and Editor-in-Chief of a Brazilian dental journal. He completed his Dental degree from the Federal University of Paraiba, PB, Brazil; an M.S. degree in pediatric dentistry from the University of Sao Paulo, Sao Paulo, SP, Brazil; a Doctor degree in stomatology at Federal University of Paraiba, PB, Brazil; and a Postdoctoral Fellowship in pediatric dentistry at Federal University of Minas Gerais, Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil. At the moment Dr. Cavalcanti is Researcher Fellow of the National Council for Scientific and Technological Development (CNPq) and Member of the Board of the Brazilian Society of Paediatric Dentistry and Brazilian Dental Association. His areas of research are oral epidemiology in children and violence and public health. He has written two books and has published over 240 articles in many journals.
