Vesselin Drensky

Vesselin Drensky was born in Burgas, Bulgaria, in 1950. He received the M.A. degree in mathematics from the University of Sofia, Sofia, Bulgaria, in 1973 and the Ph.D. degree from the Moscow State University, Moscow Russia, in 1979. In 1998 he defended his Dr.Sci. thesis at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences. Drensky held positions at the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics as an Instructor (1973–1976), Assistant Professor (1980–1986), Associate Professor (1986–1999), and Full Professor since 1999. He was elected a Corresponding Member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences in 2004. Since 1999 he is Editor-in-Chief of Serdica Mathematical Journal published by the Institute of Mathematics and Informatics. The research interests of Vesselin Drensky are in noncommutative algebra, algebras with polynomial identities, combinatorial and computational ring theory, commutative and noncommutative invariant theory, automorphisms of polynomial, and free Algebras.
